The Halifax Infirmary is home to the Charles V. Keating Emergency and Trauma Centre. It also houses a number of inpatient units, general surgery, vascular surgery, cardiovascular surgery, orthopedic surgery and outpatient clinics.

Payrate: $22.50
Key Responsibilities
Shift Supervisors are responsible for the direction and training of their staff during the day to day operations of the Access Control Security team at their site.
Communication is a key function of the Shift Supervisor, as they are an extension of the Site Supervisor and Management team.

Key Responsibilities
Shift Supervisors are responsible for the direction and training of their staff during the day to day operations of the Access Control Security team at their site.
Communication is a key function of the Shift Supervisor, as they are an extension of the Site Supervisor and Management team.
Shift Supervisors Are Responsible For
- Provide direct supervision and leadership to Access Control Officers during assigned hours.
- Serve as the primary operational contact for Access Control concerns and decision making.
- Provide guidance, direction, and support to ensure compliance with Paladin policies, post orders, and client expectations.
- Field public and staff complaints and concerns, providing appropriate direction and
- Ensure all Access Control Officers receive timely and accurate briefings on updated post orders, NSHA directives, and client communications.
- Act as the central communication link for Access Control information, ensuring continuity of information to weekend and overnight officers.
- Mentor and coach officers, supporting Paladin's standards of professionalism and service delivery.
- Reduce day-to-day operational demands on the Shift Supervisor and Site Supervisor.
- Collect and present data from AI weapon detection systems to the Site Supervisor, Client Service Manager, Paladin Management and Clients.
- Ensure daily paperwork is completed, including DARs, Notebooks, Incident Reports and Item Confiscation Logs.
- Ensure officers are wearing appropriate uniforms and equipment, and maintaining a professional appearance.
- Provide guidance and supervision to other officers positioned at Access Control.
- Shift Supervisors duties include (but are not limited to):** checking emails and answering any pressing issues, being on call for emergencies, conferring with the Site Supervisor for daily or upcoming matters, assisting with scheduling, facilitating shift change briefings, general cleanliness of the Security Office, and ensuring daily paperwork (sign-in sheets, incident reports, etc) has been completed.
