The Opportunity The Project Coordinator plays a pivotal role in overseeing all aspects of project construction, from inception to completion. Reporting to the Development Manager and collaborating closely with the Site Superintendent, you’ll ensure efficient project execution and adherence to safety and quality standards. The Opportunity The Project Coordinator plays a pivotal role in overseeing all aspects of project construction, from inception to completion. Reporting to the Development Manager and collaborating closely with the Site Superintendent, you’ll ensure efficient project execution and adherence to safety and quality standards. What You Will Be Doing:
- Premobilization Planning:
- Provide input during premobilization planning.
- Review construction documents to understand project scope before construction begins.
- Apply for and coordinate with service and utility providers. Collaborate with the Site Superintendent and Project Manager
- Schedule Management:
- Work closely with the Site Superintendent to document short-cycle schedules and constraints.
- Work closely with the Project Manager to aide in schedule development and updates.
- Establish and execute action plans to address schedule challenges.
- Mitigate any issues that may impact project timelines. Implement and assist with The Last Planner System; including LEAN Construction Management, Weekly Work Plans, and Pull Plans
- Communication and Coordination:
- Coordinate requests for information, site clarifications, and proposed changes.
- Follow up with the Project Manager as needed.
- Review shop drawings and submittals, collaborating with trade partners. Set completion dates and lead times based on input from the Site Superintendent
- Procurement and Financial Support (Change Management):
- Generate purchase orders for site-required items.
- Complete and manage the change management process, from Request-for-Information to Proposed Change Notice and Change Orders.
- Work closely with the Project Manager to aide in budget updates and forecasting. Assist the Project Manager with invoice review
- Safety and Quality Assurance:
- Assist in the development and implementation of Safety Plans and Safety Orientation presentations.
- Follow up so that the Site Team is submitting safety documentation on time and that all relevant site safety info is up to date. Enforce Quality Assurance standards, documenting deficiencies and establishing completion dates
- Project Closeout:
- Handle permit closeout submittals.
- Address testing requirements (including building commissioning).
- Correct any deficiencies and facilitate building turnover.
- Gather closeout and O&M documentation for energy modelling, project completion, and property management.
- 3-5 years experience, ideally in multi-family residential construction.
- Project Management Professional (PMP) certification would be an asset.
- Technical background such as P.Eng., C.E.T., C.Tech. B.Tech. in Construction Management would be considered an asset.
- CM-Lean would be considered an asset.
- Strong knowledge of construction processes, materials, and safety regulations.
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability the multitask.
- Experience with a project management software, or proficiency with ProCore & Microsoft Office would be an asset.
- Ability to work independently or as part of a team, with strong leadership skills.
- Outstanding communication and interpersonal skills.
