Your Opportunity: The Contaminated Buildings Specialist will be responsible for guiding inspectors through assessments of buildings impacted by a variety of contaminants including, but not limited to asbestos, mold, ammonia, radon, and all types of pests. The Contaminated Buildings Specialist will be expected to interpret and understand all testing results as well as mitigation and remediation documents in all types of facilities Environmental Public Health inspects, including rental properties, food facilities, and social care facilities Description: As a Public Health Inspector II and appointed Executive Officer under the authority of the Public Health Act, you will be responsible for the delivery of a comprehensive environmental public health program. As a Public Health Inspector II, you will have advanced technical expertise in the areas of public health epidemiology, environmental science and engineering, and scientific research. In addition to the duties required for the enforcement of the Public Health Act, you will act as a zone lead responsible for specialized technical advice and services in one or more of the environmental public health service delivery areas on a zone/provincial basis. You will support individual and community wellness through monitoring inspections, disease surveillance, consultation and enforcement of the Public Health Act and regulations
