Job Qualifications:
- Bachelor of Education
- Math/numeracy curriculum and instruction background
- Deep understanding of pedagogical approaches based on best practices
- Proven interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
- Experience in facilitating professional learning and development for staff
- Ability and proficiency with a variety of educational technology applications, including Google Apps
- Demonstrates commitment to collaborative practice and teamwork
- Direct reporting to the Director of Teaching and Learning on Alberta Education curriculum updates and timelines for new implementation
- Provide school-based, job-embedded support for teachers as they implement effective numeracy instructional practices
- Support teachers in making connections between educational research, theory and classroom practice
- Support teachers in the implementation of effective research-based intervention strategies
- Support and build capacity with school teams in instructional and assessment practices, and in addition the collection and analysis of student numeracy achievement data.
- Collect and analyze District data and establish targets for improvement
- Proven school-based leadership
- Knowledge in budget monitoring and management
- Understanding of District policies and practices would be an asset
