Personal Support Worker at CareQuilt

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced daytime caregiver to support a mother-in-law, with plans to extend care to her father-in-law in the near future. The primary care recipient requires comprehensive assistance with daily activities including mobility support, personal care, meal preparation, medication management, and household tasks. The family is comparing agencies and values reliability, clear communication, and a caregiver who takes initiative while respecting their loved one's dignity and independence.

Responsibilities:

• Provide mobility assistance and support with transfers throughout the day
• Assist with bathing, dressing, and personal hygiene care
• Prepare full meals and provide feeding support as needed
• Manage medication reminders and assist with medication administration
• Perform cleaning and laundry duties to maintain a tidy home environment
• Monitor safety and well-being throughout the day and night
• Communicate regularly with family members about care updates
• Be prepared to extend support to a second care recipient in the near future

What We're Looking For:

• Experience providing live-in care for seniors with mobility limitations
• Strong skills in personal care including bathing and dressing assistance
• Ability to safely perform transfers and mobility support
• Experience with medication management and reminders
• Comfortable with meal preparation and feeding assistance
• Reliable, consistent, and punctual with excellent attendance
• Takes initiative and anticipates needs without constant direction
• Communicates clearly and proactively with family members
• Patient, calm, and brings positive energy to the home
• Fluent in English
• Previous experience caring for multiple clients is a plus
• This is not a first-time care situation, so the family has clear expectations

This is a daytime position requiring overnight and 24-hour availability. The caregiver will reside in the home and provide continuous support and supervision. Specific arrangements for time off and respite will be discussed during the interview process.

The ideal candidate will understand that this role requires flexibility, dedication, and the ability to build trusting relationships with both care recipients and their family. The family has experience with caregivers and knows what works best for their loved ones.
