Buyer – Engineered Systems to join our Procurement team. If you’re passionate about supplier coordination, strategic sourcing, and supporting innovative automation solutions, this opportunity is for you!

What You Will Get To Do

  • Work closely with the Advanced Processing Group and Estimating team to identify required purchased equipment and outsourced services for projects.
  • Develop and issue RFQs (Request for Quotations) to vendors and suppliers based on detailed process requirements and project specifications.
  • Support the quoting process by identifying potential suppliers and obtaining competitive budgetary pricing from the market.
  • Contribute to supplier management activities, including supplier identification, onboarding, performance evaluation, and ongoing collaboration.
  • Ensure supplier capacity and capabilities align with Valiant TMS and customer requirements, proactively identifying and mitigating organizational risk.
  • Make vendor selection recommendations based on thorough technical and commercial evaluations.
  • Conduct market analysis and benchmarking to generate supply chain insights and identify opportunities for cost reduction.
  • Build and maintain strategic supplier relationships, identify optimal sourcing opportunities, and lead negotiations on technical and commercial terms.
  • Prepare and issue Purchase Orders in compliance with established purchasing procedures, policies, and guidelines.
  • Monitor supplier performance to ensure alignment with project timelines, deliverables, and overall expectations.

What We Are Looking For

  • Experience: In vendor coordination, procurement, estimating, or supply chain within automation, assembly, body-in-white and aerospace sectors. Strong understanding of technical sourcing, customer standards, supplier evaluation processes and applicable industry standards.
  • Qualifications:
    • College diploma or bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Supply Chain Management, Business, or a related field.
    • Demonstrated understanding of procurement processes, supply chain principles and industry best practices.
    • Proven ability to apply technical and commercial knowledge to support sourcing and purchasing decisions.
    • Strong analytical capabilities in pricing, market analysis, competitiveness, and value analysis/value engineering (VA/VE).
    • Effective negotiation skills with experience in market testing, supplier sourcing, and procurement methodologies.
    • Proficiency in SAP and Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, etc.).
    • Excellent organizational, time management, and multitasking skills, with the ability to prioritize in high-pressure environments.
    • Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with internal teams and external suppliers.
    • Teamwork: Demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively within a fast-paced, cross-functional team environment.
    • Work Authorization: Must be legally authorized to work in Canada

    The expected annual compensation for this position is $55,000.00 – $75,000.00. Actual compensation may vary based on factors such as education, experience, skillset, or location. This posting is for an existing vacancy. Valiant TMS does not require Canadian work experience and does not use artificial intelligence (AI) to screen or assess applicants.
