Plains has an opportunity for a Pipeline Technician to work on our pipeline system in the Slave Lake area. The successful candidate will provide support to operations, maintenance, and projects in addition to ensuring compliance with all regulatory requirements and company policies/procedures.

Responsibilities:

  • Flexible and willing to work within pipeline/truck terminal operations and provide project support;

  • Basic understanding of pipelines, pump stations, pigging and storage facilities

  • Able to perform minor maintenance duties with pumps and piping, demonstrating mechanical aptitude;

  • Able to work independently or as a team member with minimal supervision.

  • Able to conduct daily duties that consist of pipeline pigging, sampling, housekeeping including shoveling snow, cleaning buildings and yard maintenance, LOTO’s and drain downs.

  • Self-motivated and energetic with effective written/verbal communication skills.

  • Able and comfortable to drive to and from different site locations on and off highway.

  • Willing and able to work outside in all weather conditions.

  • Willingness to work a 8 days on/6 days off shift

Qualifications:

  • Minimum high school graduate or equivalent

  • Ground Disturbance experience would be considered an asset

  • Completion of an OGPO course would be considered an asset

  • Permanent resident (100 km radius) within the Slave Lake area;

  • Demonstrated computer knowledge with experience in Microsoft 365, Word, and Excel;

  • Cleared criminal history (background) check and satisfactory reference checks;

  • Compliance with the company’s Drug & Alcohol Policy; and

  • Valid Driver’s License with a clean abstract.

  • This position is not eligible for employment-based visa sponsorship. Applicants must be authorized to work in Canada for the duration of their employment.
