Software Engineer at Foreseeson Technology

About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Software Engineer to support the development and integration of Energy Management Systems (EMS) and EV charging solutions. The ideal candidate will have experience with EV charger communication protocols, backend system integration, and software development related to smart energy or charging infrastructure.

Role & Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and enhance software for Energy Management Systems (EMS) and EV charging platforms.
• Implement and support EV charger communication protocols such as OCPP (Open Charge Point Protocol).
• Design and develop APIs, backend services, and communication interfaces between chargers and management systems.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including hardware, firmware, cloud, and product teams, to ensure seamless system integration.
• Monitor system performance, troubleshoot software issues, and provide technical support when required.
• Software testing, debugging, validation, and deployment activities.
• Support integration with cloud platforms, databases, and third-party systems.
• Maintain technical documentation, software specifications, and user manuals.
• Stay updated on industry trends, EV charging technologies, and energy management solutions.
• Other assigned tasks/ projects from time to time

Qualifications & Requirements

• A minimum of 5 years of experience in software development and successfully managing projects.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field.
• Experience in software development using languages such as Python, C++, Java, or JavaScript.
• Knowledge or experience with OCPP protocols and EV charging systems.
• Familiarity with networking protocols.
• Experience with cloud platforms, IoT systems, or energy management applications is an asset.
• AI Application experience.
• A strong grasp of information technology concepts and processes.
• Excellent English written and verbal communication skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent organizational and time-management abilities.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Positive attitude, resilience, competitive mindset, and willingness to learn.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.

*Job type: This is a full-time, fixed-term contract position for a period of six (6) months.

*The salary for this 6-month fixed-term contract position is CA$80,000 annually, prorated for the contract duration. Final compensation will be determined based on the candidate’s qualifications and experience.
