Senior Product Designer at Staples Canada
Some of what you will do
As the Senior Product Designer, you will partner with the digital product and engineering teams in the product discovery and development process, collaborate on and deliver best-in-class user experiences and align customer needs to business outcomes.
Specifically, You Will
- Collaborate cross-functionally with product and engineering partners in product discovery. Advocate for customers by understanding their needs, nuances, and root causes of their problems.
- Own the end-to-end iterative design process and deliver compelling designs that support the needs of internal or external customers, businesses and/or consumers.
- Apply user research insights, usability testing, competitive analysis, and UX audits to continuously improve experiences while partnering with UX research and analytics teams to inform design decisions and identify emerging trends and opportunities.
- Partner with business partners on requirements discussions and provide solutions and guidance on design rationale, user experience, and user- centred design practices.
- Create user flows, wireframes, prototypes, and high-fidelity UI designs aligned with the Staples design system and brand guidelines.
- Facilitate UX workshops, design critiques, and collaborative working sessions to align teams and drive decision-making.
- Advocate for accessibility, usability, and best practices across all digital touchpoints.
- Contribute to and evolve the design system to ensure consistency and scalability across products and platforms.
- Mentor and support junior designers by providing guidance and feedback.
- Use data, analytics, customer feedback, and experimentation to inform design decisions and measure impact.
Some Of What You Need
- Requires a college or university degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, or related field.
- A hands-on designer who is proficient in UX design, interaction design, prototyping and usability testing
- A proven track record and strong portfolio featuring examples of your work, your design process, and the outcomes/results
- Use quantitative insights and qualitative data sources to inform your design decisions.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with effective communication across diverse audiences.
- Experience working with B2B/Enterprise products is an asset.
- Proficiency in leveraging AI tools for UX design, prototyping, and user research analysis is highly valued.
- 4+ years of relevant work experience, for example, as a Product Designer, UX Designer, etc.
