As a Payroll Administrator, you will be responsible for the accurate and timely processing of Canadian bi-weekly payroll, along with all associated reconciliations, remittances, and financial reporting activities. You will ensure that all payroll transactions are completed in accordance with applicable Canadian legislation and internal policies. Your goal will be to deliver a seamless, compliant, and efficient payroll experience while maintaining strong financial controls and supporting internal stakeholders. Your success will be measured by the accuracy and timeliness of payroll processing, the integrity of payroll-related reconciliations, adherence to regulatory requirements, and the quality of service provided to employees and business partners.

Your Responsibilities

  • Process Canadian bi-weekly payroll in accordance with established timelines and compliance requirements
  • Reconcile payroll inputs, bank control accounts, and related payroll data to ensure accuracy and completeness
  • Prepare and transmit payroll-related bank files and general ledger (GL) entries
  • Administer payroll remittances, including statutory deductions (CRA), garnishments, union dues, benefits, and other withholdings
  • Perform and maintain reconciliations of payroll-related general ledger accounts
  • Investigate and resolve payroll discrepancies, liaising with internal teams and external agencies as required
  • Support employment verifications, reporting requirements, and audit activities
  • Contribute to system testing (e.g., Workday updates), process improvements, and payroll-related projects
  • Ensure ongoing compliance with Canadian payroll legislation and internal governance standards

Your Skills

  • Demonstrated ability to manage payroll processes with a high degree of accuracy in a deadline-driven environment
  • Strong organizational and analytical capabilities, with sound judgment when handling sensitive and confidential information
  • Experience working within HRIS environments, with Workday exposure considered an asset
  • Commitment to continuous improvement and process efficiency

Your Experience

  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources, Business, or a related discipline
  • 3 -5 years of payroll experience, including direct responsibility for payroll processing
  • Payroll certification required (PCP - Payroll Compliance Practitioner for Canada)
