Cloud Security Analyst (AI Training)

About The Role

We partner with the world's leading AI research teams and labs to build and train cutting-edge AI models. Right now, we're looking for experienced cloud security practitioners to help us make AI smarter about how cloud environments actually fail.

This isn't theoretical work. You'll be drawing on your real-world experience with misconfigurations, incident patterns, and cloud security gaps to evaluate and improve AI reasoning — so that the next generation of AI security tools reflects how things actually break in production.

If you know how cloud environments fail and can articulate the blast radius, this role was built for you.

  • Organization: Alignerr
  • Type: Hourly Contract
  • Location: Remote
  • Commitment: 10–40 hours/week

What You'll Do

  • Analyze cloud security scenarios across AWS, GCP, and Azure to identify risks and real-world failure patterns
  • Review and evaluate IAM, networking, storage, and container security issues
  • Classify security gaps, misconfigurations, and cloud-related failures based on real-world impact and blast radius
  • Validate and improve AI-generated security reasoning to ensure it accurately reflects how cloud incidents unfold in practice
  • Provide structured, expert feedback that directly improves the quality of frontier AI security systems

Who You Are

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience working with cloud environments in production
  • Solid understanding of cloud IAM, networking, storage, and container security concepts
  • Familiarity with real-world misconfigurations and security incidents across major cloud platforms
  • Ability to reason clearly about blast radius, risk exposure, and business impact
  • Strong written communication — you can explain complex security issues clearly and concisely

Nice to Have

  • Experience with cloud security frameworks or compliance standards (e.g., CIS Benchmarks, SOC 2, NIST)
  • Background in penetration testing, threat modeling, or incident response
  • Familiarity with cloud-native security tooling (GuardDuty, Security Command Center, Defender for Cloud, etc.)
  • Prior work in AI evaluation, data labeling, or model training workflows

Why Join Us

  • Work directly on frontier AI systems alongside top research labs
  • Fully remote and flexible — work on your own schedule
  • Freelance perks: autonomy, variety, and global collaboration
  • Your expertise has a direct, measurable impact on how AI understands cloud security
  • Potential for ongoing work and contract extension
