Incident Response Analyst (AI Training)

About The Role

We're partnering with leading AI research labs to build the next generation of AI-powered security tools — and we need experienced security professionals to make it happen. As an Incident Response Analyst, you'll apply your hands-on SOC and IR expertise to evaluate, challenge, and improve AI systems designed to detect threats, correlate alerts, and support digital investigations.

This is a rare opportunity to influence how AI understands and responds to real-world security incidents — working on your own schedule, fully remote.

  • Organization: Alignerr
  • Type: Hourly Contract
  • Location: Remote
  • Commitment: 10–40 hours/week

What You'll Do

  • Analyze realistic security events, alerts, and incident cases to evaluate AI-generated responses
  • Assess root cause analysis, impact determinations, and remediation recommendations produced by AI
  • Review and critique detection rules, alerting pipelines, and investigative playbooks
  • Verify that AI-driven incident analysis reflects how real security operations teams work
  • Provide structured, expert feedback that directly improves AI model accuracy and reliability
  • Work independently and asynchronously on task-based assignments

Who You Are

  • 2+ years of experience in a SOC, incident response, or security operations role
  • Hands-on experience with SIEM platforms, alert queues, and investigation tooling
  • Strong ability to triage alerts, distinguish real threats from noise, and determine incident scope
  • Comfortable documenting findings clearly and concisely
  • Self-motivated and reliable in a remote, async work environment
  • No prior AI experience required — your security expertise is what matters

Nice to Have

  • Experience with EDR, SOAR, or threat intelligence platforms
  • Familiarity with frameworks like MITRE ATT&CK or NIST IR
  • Background in digital forensics, malware analysis, or threat hunting
  • Security certifications such as GCIH, GCFE, CEH, or CISSP

Why Join Us

  • Work directly on frontier AI systems with top research labs
  • Fully remote and flexible — work on your own schedule
  • Freelance perks: autonomy, variety, and global collaboration
  • Make a meaningful impact on how AI handles real-world cybersecurity challenges
  • Potential for ongoing work and contract extension
