Administrative Summer Student at Town of Newmarket
Reporting to the Fire Chief, and under the direction of the Administrative Coordinator, the Administrative Assistant – Student will provide administrative and clerical assistance including call management and appointment booking, resident appointment requests for the Stay Fire Smart Program, data entry and documentation, customer service/reception duties, photocopying, filing, vacation coverage, and assigned projects and tasks.
Currently enrolled in secondary school program or post-secondary courses in Business, Office Administration, or related fields.
Must demonstrate effective customer service skills.
Demonstrated knowledge of office/administrative procedures.
Proficiency in using Microsoft Office (Work, Excel, Outlook) with the ability to work in a computerized environment.
Demonstrated ability to work as a team member as well as the ability to work independently and with minimum supervision to meet deadlines, perform multiple tasks, and respect confidentiality.
Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills; attention to detail and accuracy in data entry; knowledge of general office equipment including multi-line phone system, copier, scanner, fax machine, and other aspects of an automated office environment.
