Dietitian at Alberta Health Services
In this position, the dietitian will primarily work with home care clients residing in and around Olds, Sundre, Three Hills, and Elnora. Home care clients can reside in their own homes, lodges or supportive living facilities. In addition, the dietitian will also provide coverage to clients in acute care, long term care and ambulatory care at the Sundre Hospital and Care Centre. The majority of patients will be adults; however, pediatric clients may be seen in outpatients. Close collaboration with all members of the health care team including clients and family members is required to ensure appropriate nutrition care is provided.
As a Dietitian I, you may provide nutrition expertise to patients (clients, residents) in various AHS facilities and community settings to achieve nutrition and health outcomes. You may be responsible for nutrition assessment, development, implementation and evaluation of nutrition care plans. You may plan and provide public health nutrition services and education programs to promote healthy living and disease prevention for clients/groups in facilities or community settings. Nutrition education is provided to students and other healthcare professionals to support delivery of evidence based nutrition information.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor of Science with a major in Foods and Nutrition. Completion of an internship program or practicum training program accredited by the Dietitians of Canada. Active or eligible for registration with the College of Dietitians of Alberta (CDA).
Additional Required Qualifications
The successful candidate will demonstrate a Patient First philosophy; be comfortable working with seniors and their families; be knowledgeable of chronic disease management and adult education principles; be able to support both adult and pediatric patients; and have excellent time management and interpersonal skills. A reliable vehicle is required to provide Home Care services.
Preferred Qualifications
Prior experience working in a variety of practice areas.
