BCI is looking for a collaborative and technically grounded finance technology leader to join our Finance Business Solutions team as Manager, Workday Finance Solutions. In this role, you'll own the financial applications at the heart of BCI's Workday ecosystem — including Financials, Adaptive Planning, Strategic Sourcing, and Expenses — and lead a team of dedicated Workday Finance Stewards to ensure Finance professionals across the organization are well-supported and set up for success. You'll also serve as BCI's eyes and ears on Workday's evolving roadmap, ensuring we're well-positioned to adopt new capabilities as the platform grows.

THE OPPORTUNITY
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Finance Platform Solutions, the Manager, Workday Finance Solutions is responsible for maximizing the value and use of BCI’s investment in the Workday platform for Finance. This role owns the financial applications within the Workday ecosystem – Financials, Adaptive Planning, Strategic Sourcing, and Expenses – and leads the Workday Finance Steward team to ensure end users are properly supported. Operating within a matrix structure, the Manager partners with the Workday Finance Stewards, the Workday Platform Owner, and the Human Resources (“HR”) Application Owner to coordinate system improvements, manage service delivery by the Application Management Support (AMS) vendor, and ensure a consistent and coherent enterprise platform experience. Success in this role depends on strong influencing, collaboration, and business partnership skills across Finance, Technology, and HR.
WHO YOU WILL WORK WITH
The Finance department is part of BCI Operations and is responsible for investment and corporate accounting, valuation, as well as financial statements and financial client reporting. The team also leads BCI’s budgeting process, tax structuring and compliance, and performance measurement. Working with our internal business partners, auditors and external advisors, the Finance department strives to be a trusted advisor to our internal and external clients by providing timely, accurate and relevant financial information.
Finance Business Solutions supports all Finance functions to effectively execute BCI’s strategy. The branch creates value for our clients by promoting efficient use of current and emerging finance technologies, facilitating innovation and AI adoption, optimizing processes to create capacity and reduce risk, and coordinating key initiatives and people programs.
WHAT YOU BRING
University/college degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Information Systems
Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA) and/or PMP designation is preferred
6+ years of progressive experience bridging finance operations and technology (e.g. Finance Systems, Finance Technology, Finance Transformation, or Finance Business Solutions) through projects of various sizes and scale
Understanding of Finance processes across the Record-to-Report, Source-to-Pay, Plan-to-Actual and the technologies (including AI tools) that support them
2–4 years of experience implementing, executing post-implementation projects, or providing end-user support on Workday Financials (FINS) or Workday Adaptive Planning (WAP) is required
Strong functional knowledge of FINS and/or WAP capabilities in a multi-currency, procure-to-pay, and multi-entity consolidation environment
Familiarity with enterprise planning and analytics (EPM) tools (Workday Adaptive Planning or comparable platforms) and how they connect budgeting, forecasting, commitments accounting, and financial management of departmental spending
General knowledge of Workday security model and reporting/dashboarding capabilities
A strong client service mindset and consultative approach with the ability to build business relationships and articulate client needs
Experience in asset management, institutional investment, pension, or regulated financial services is an asset
WHAT YOU WILL DO
Workday Platform Stewardship & Optimization
Owns the financial applications within the Workday ecosystem (FINS, WAP, Strategic Sourcing, Expenses), supports the Workday Finance Stewards in scoping and developing business requirements, while prioritizing enhancement requests to optimize the use of native Workday capabilities
Translates the Finance reporting strategy into Workday design and configuration requirements, partnering with Finance stakeholders and Technology partners (Workday Platform and Data & Analytics) to deliver investment, corporate, and management reporting capabilities
Monitors segregation of duties and security configuration on Finance modules; adopts and maintains IT General Controls based on direction from the Technology Platform Owner to ensure sound business practices and strong governance are applied consistently across the Workday platform
Service Delivery & Cross-Platform Coordination
Manages service delivery by the Application Management Support (AMS) vendor for Finance modules, including prioritizing tickets, reviewing change impact from Workday updates and releases, and escalating issues as required
Represents Finance at the Workday Platform and Application Support forum; partners with the Workday Platform Owner and the HR Application Owner to align priorities and ensure a consistent and coherent use of the platform across Finance and HR
Stakeholder and Change Management, Adoption, and Business Partnership
Leads the Workday Finance Steward team (FINS, WAP, Strategic Sourcing, Expenses); helps team members set scorecard objectives and learning plans to stay current with their respective module(s) and the evolving Workday platform
Monitors and assesses user adoption; collaborates with module stewards to execute plans that improve user experience and incorporate feedback into application design
Fosters a culture of digital confidence within Finance by building finance professionals’ fluency with new tools and promoting a continuous improvement mindset

This role is based at BCI's headquarters in Victoria, British Columbia.
SALARY RANGE
The annualized salary range for this Victoria based role is CAD $125,000-$150,000.

We pay our people competitively in the markets in which we operate and with consideration for internal equity and job structure. The base salary will consider factors such as the individual's skill set, experience, and internal equity. We aim for actual pay to be around the market median for expected performance and the upper quartile for excellent performance. Actual salaries may vary based on experience and expertise.
