Library Technician - Technical Support Services at Lakeland College

Technical Support Services is the primary point of contact for library technology-related implementation and support and delivers customer service to employees and students with excellence, consistency and professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
- Technical administration of all library platforms: Alma, Primo VE, Rialto, Rapido, SpringShare
- Technical troubleshooting: testing, diagnosing and resolving all technical issues related to library vendors, platforms, for all electronic formats (databases, e-books, e-journals)
- Activating all library e-resources accessed via Primo VE / Alma (databases, e-books, e-journals)
- Proxy configuration and authentication - OCLC
- Provides remote support for library platforms to end users for all campus locations, on and off campus
- Responds to user’s questions and requests for help diagnosing the problem; providing advice and/or assistance; documenting the problem for further investigation
- Develop relevant training materials to improve employee and students’ understanding of applications by researching user problems; providing written instructions; providing verbal guidance
Keys to Your Success
- Strong communication skills and ability to convey complex technical information in a clear and concise manner
- Required to obtain the Alma and Primo VE system administrator certification
- Excellent organizational and analytical skills
- Ability to prioritize and coordinate tasks to meet deadlines across multiple tasks and projects
- Outstanding interpersonal skills and ability to create and maintain professional relationships with colleagues
- Strong technical support knowledge and skills
- Experience with the following applications/vendors would be considered an asset: Ex Libris, Alma, Primo VE, Rialto, Rapido, SpringShare – Libguides, Microsoft ENTRA ID and PeopleSoft.
Additional Information
This is a Full-time Permanent AUPE appointment at the Lloydminster campus. Salary range is $51,748 - $65,213 per annum.
