Key Responsibilities
Faith and Instructional Leadership
Provide faith-filled, servant leadership that reflects the mission, vision, and values of Catholic education. Foster a culture where faith is integrated into all aspects of school life and inspire students and staff to deepen their relationship with Christ through witness, prayer, service, and learning.
School Culture and Student Well-Being
Foster a culture of belonging where diversity is celebrated and every learner is known, valued, and supported. Promote inclusive practices that recognize and respond to the strengths, needs, and gifts of neurodiverse learners while ensuring all students have equitable opportunities to engage, participate, and thrive.
Cultivate a welcoming, caring, respectful, and safe learning environment where every student feels valued, supported, and empowered to achieve success. Model and promote the values of dignity, belonging, and compassion while fostering positive relationships throughout the school community. Maintain a visible and accessible presence within the school and actively support student engagement, wellness, and faith development.
Staff Growth, Development, and Leadership
Support the professional growth of teachers and staff through coaching, mentorship, meaningful feedback, and ongoing professional learning aligned with the Alberta Teacher Quality Standard (TQS) and Leadership Quality Standard (LQS). Foster a culture of reflective practice, collaboration, innovation, and excellence where staff are encouraged to continuously refine their craft and embrace new approaches to teaching and learning.
Student Success and Learning Excellence
Lead and support inclusive learning environments that respond to the diverse academic, social, emotional, and behavioural needs of students. Collaborate with learning support staff, counsellors, educational assistants, families, and community partners to ensure students receive the support necessary for success.
Champion student achievement, well-being, and holistic development through evidence-informed decision-making and responsive educational programming. Monitor student learning data to identify trends, celebrate successes, and implement strategies that support growth and achievement for all learners. Encourage student participation in extracurricular, leadership, faith formation, and service opportunities that contribute to a vibrant school culture.
Operational and Organizational Leadership
Provide effective stewardship of school resources and oversee the day-to-day operations of the school. Ensure compliance with Alberta Education requirements, divisional policies and procedures, and all applicable legislation. Maintain a safe and supportive learning environment through proactive planning, emergency preparedness, risk management, and operational excellence.
Community and Relationship Building
Build and sustain strong, trusting relationships with students, families, parish partners, staff, and community stakeholders. Foster meaningful collaboration and open communication to strengthen student success and community engagement.
Innovation and Continuous Improvement
Champion a culture of curiosity, innovation, and continuous improvement. Encourage creative problem-solving, future-focused learning, and innovative practices that enhance student engagement, achievement, and well-being. Lead school improvement planning processes that align with divisional priorities while empowering staff and students to contribute to meaningful and sustainable growth.
