St. Paul Education is accepting applications for a full-time (1.0 FTE) Division Psychologist commencing the 2026-2027 school year.
Reporting to the Associate Superintendent of Learning Services, the Division Psychologist plays a crucial role in supporting the Division's education plan by providing psychological expertise, consultation, supervision, and guidance to address the complex and intensive mental health needs of students. A key responsibility of this role is providing supervision, consultation, and program support to the Division's Family School Liaison Worker program, helping to build capacity and ensure coordinated, effective support for students and families.
This role also supports student success by working collaboratively with school teams, families, and Division staff to inform intervention planning, crisis response, preventive programming, and system-wide practices that align with the Division's comprehensive school health goals for student well-being and success.
Specific Accountabilities
- Provide supervision and consultation to the Division's Family School Liaison Worker team.
- Provide evidence-based consultation, recommendations, and support to school teams, families, and Division staff to address the complex needs of children and youth.
- Collaborate with school administrators, staff, families, community agencies, and other professionals to support student mental health, well-being, and positive school environments.
- Apply knowledge of culturally responsive mental health supports and practices.
- Support faith-based mental health supports in our Catholic schools.
- Develop practical resources, tools, and strategies to support intervention planning, student mental health, family engagement, and school team capacity.
- Support crisis response and intervention planning related to trauma, suicidal ideation, non-suicidal self-injury, bereavement, and other complex student needs.
- Lead the Division's collaborative Violence Threat Risk Assessment processes, including assessing and responding to risk of harm to self or others.
- Serve as the Division liaison for the Together We're Better MHCB Program and Integrated Student Support Program.
- Support preventive programs and wellness initiatives aligned with the Division's comprehensive school health goals.
- Provide professional development and capacity-building opportunities for staff.
- Provide learning opportunities and resources to parents and caregivers.
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Psychology.
- Registration with the College of Alberta Psychologists.
- Minimum of three years' experience providing therapeutic or formal counselling support to children, youth, and families.
- Experience providing supervision, consultation, and/or leadership to other mental health professionals or related service providers.
- Knowledge and experience in Violence Threat Risk Assessment, crisis response, and trauma-informed practice.
- Belief in and commitment to a strength-based, solution-focused approach.
- Ability to work collaboratively with schools, families, community agencies, and multidisciplinary teams.
- Strong interpersonal, communication, documentation, organizational, and time-management skills.
This is a full-time, term-certain (three-year) position with an annual salary based on 210 days. The role includes a comprehensive benefit plan.

We serve 3627 students (K-12), including Catholic, First Nation, Mennonite, Hutterite and Home Schooling learners. Our 19 definable school sites are staffed by approximately 230 FTE teaching staff and 300 support staff.
