McArthur River, located in northern Saskatchewan, is the world’s largest high-grade uranium mine. The uranium produced at McArthur River is used for nuclear fuel products, which utilities around the world rely on to generate safe, reliable, emissions-free nuclear power. Cameco is one of the largest global providers of the uranium fuel needed to power a secure energy future.
Position and Responsibilities
- Operating, inspecting, and maintaining the main cage and skip conveyance.
- Preparing equipment and materials to be moved to and from the underground using slings and rigging.
- Operating equipment such as JCB loader and skid steer loader.
- Fulfil all duties as detailed in the mine’s regulations mine shaft 3 operator training requirements.
This is a 3-month temporary position.
Education and Qualifications
Requirements of the position:
- minimum grade 12 education or equivalent;
- minimum two years of underground mining experience;
- must successfully pass the crane and rigging course;
- rotating day/night shift schedule;
- able to work at heights using fall arrest;
- willing to work in confined spaces;
- valid class 5 driver’s license; and Work a rotational schedule and commute to site by aircraft
