Recreation Programmer at St. Joseph's Continuing Care Centre
The Recreation Programmer will ensure that all residents in the Long Term Care Programme have the opportunity to participate in recreational and social activities that meet their needs and interests. The residents will be assessed upon admission and their care plans reviewed on a quarterly basis or as required in order to most accurately identify their interests, level of involvement and preferences within the programme. The Programmer will provide recreation and leisure opportunities that are inclusive, taking the needs of each resident into consideration and modifying programmes as required.
Qualifications
1. A two (2) year Diploma in Recreation and Leisure and/or a two (2) year Diploma in an Allied field with concentration in gerontology and dementia studies.
2. Demonstrates skills in group dynamics, communication and interpersonal relationships.
3. Demonstrated leadership skills and creative qualities.
4. Ability to communicate in both official languages may be required.
5. Valid Driver’s Licence.
