These positions work 33 weeks per year (35 hours per week) Normally from September to April.

Primary Purpose

Perform a wide variety of duties in a moderately directed manner supporting the preparation and service of innovative, fresh, and great tasting food in various outlets while delivering a superior customer experience with personalized, friendly, and knowledgeable service.

Key Accountabilities

The duties and responsibilities will vary widely depending on location, shift, task assignment, menu and other factors. Examples include but are not limited to:

  • Food and beverage preparing, assembly and serving in accordance with strict guidelines and recipes. Monitor other staff on portion control. Review menu and anticipate product needed. Determine food rotation and unit set up. Monitor and record product waste.
  • Change menu in the event of shortages or when substitutions are needed.
  • Merchandising and display set-up. Ensure food is visually pleasing. Maintain stock replenishment. Submit orders by phone using guidelines. Counting and recording inventory.
  • Respond to immediate customer needs. Meet service standards, use “making it right” protocol as necessary. Respond to and assist other staff in handling difficult customer concerns.
  • Processing general transactions. Loading cards with funds. Process refunds and voids. Troubleshooting general POS issues. Safe combination holder. Balancing safe daily.
  • Opening and closing units, and as such, hold unit keys. Oversight of break coverage with casual or support staff. Ordering/replenishing/transferring product during the shift.
  • Coach, train and assign work to others. Provide problem resolution as needed.
  • General cleaning and sanitizing. Report equipment issues to Supervisor. Complete or delegate preventative maintenance cleaning. Troubleshooting equipment issues to be addressed and delegate work, or report serious repair issues to Supervisor.
  • Assist with health & safety inspections, initiating corrective action as needed or report to Group Leader/Supervisor. Monitor others to ensure H&S is practiced.

Complete Food Safety certification training.

    Required Qualifications

    Education

    • Minimum 3-5 years experience in food service retail operations.

    Experience

    • Experience leading others.
    • Experience with point of sale equipment and cash handling.
    • G driver’s license would be an asset

    Knowledge/Skills/Abilities

    • Ability to work in a fast paced, customer oriented environment.
    • Interpersonal, organization and communication skills.
    • Ability to remain calm and polite at all times, be able to multi-task and show initiative
