We are currently seeking and have an immediate opening for a qualified and motivated individual to fill the position of Accounts Receivable Specialist, Billings based out of our Saint John, NB location (331 Chesley Drive, Saint John, NB).

SUMMARY

Reporting to the Credit Manager, the Accounts Receivable Specialist, Billings is responsible for the timely and accurate preparation of customer invoices, with a primary focus on supporting custom and sometimes complex invoicing requirements across our customer base. This role plays an important part in ensuring billing accuracy, supporting cash flow, and delivering a high standard of service to both internal and external customers. Success in this position requires strong attention to detail, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage custom and sometimes complex customer invoicing requirements by interpreting customer-specific billing instructions, supporting documentation needs, and submission timelines.
  • Complete daily invoicing activities and ensure invoices are issued accurately, on schedule, and in accordance with customer requirements and internal controls.
  • Prepare and distribute monthly customer statements and respond to customer inquiries related to invoices, statements, and billing support documentation.
  • Monitor the accounts receivable shared mailbox, prioritize incoming requests, and ensure timely follow-up on customer and internal billing inquiries.
  • Maintain accurate customer master data and billing records to support invoice accuracy and efficient processing.
  • Provide backup and support to the broader accounts receivable team in the areas of cash application and deposits, as required.
  • Work collaboratively with internal teams and customers to resolve billing issues, deliver excellent service, and support continuous improvement within the accounts receivable function.
  • Perform other duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS

  • University degree or college diploma in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field
  • Experience in accounts receivable, billing, or a related finance function, with exposure to high-volume or customer-specific invoicing requirements considered an asset
  • Strong attention to detail, organization, and the ability to manage multiple priorities while meeting deadlines
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including above-average Excel skills, and comfortable working with multiple ERP or accounting systems
  • Excellent interpersonal, organizational, written and verbal communication skills
  • A customer-focused team player who thrives in a collaborative environment and approaches problems with professionalism and initiative
