The Opportunity
McElhanney Ltd. is seeking a Civil Engineering Technologist to join our team in Grande Prairie, AB. This role is ideal for someone looking to grow their design/construction engineering experience by working on, bridge culverts, linear utilities, and road projects.

What You’ll Do
- Assist in the production of engineering designs, drawings, specifications, cost estimates and tender documents for municipal engineering projects.
- Take projects from preliminary concepts and sketches into engineering designs, plans, and project documentation requirements, using primarily Civil 3D, as well as other technical software as needed.
- Coordinate the preparation of documents required for regulatory approvals.
- Coordinate with other team members to ensure schedules, budgets and quality control standards are achieved.
- Liaise with contractor, clients/owners and affected stakeholders.
- Provide construction supervision and/or administration for municipal and land development projects.
What You’ll Bring
- Diploma in Civil Engineering Technology from an accredited post-secondary institution with 0-5 years of related work experience.
- Proficiency in Civil 3D Software is an asset.
- Registration, or qualified to register as a Technician / Technologist with ASET, or as an EIT or P.Eng with APEGA is an asset.
- Excellent communication, client management, and relationship-building skills.
- Ability to work without supervision as well as within a busy and close-knit team environment.
What Can We Offer You?
The salary range for this position is $70K-$110K per annum. McElhanney offers fair compensation that is commensurate with the individual’s education, experience, skills, and professional qualifications. The posted base salary/wage range is representative of the required level of qualifications and experience for the position as noted in the job posting. The salary offered will be based on the experience and qualifications of the successful candidate.
