Graphic Designer at Keyano College
The Opportunity
Keyano College’s Public Engagement department is looking for a Graphic Designer in a part-time position. This position will provide graphic design services to the College. This position will create marketing strategies design requests in collaboration with the department representatives as well as the guidance and support of the team leadership and the marketing coordinator, to promote programs and services with our client.
Note: This is a part time role, and the successful candidate will be scheduled 17.5 hours per week between Monday to Thursday during the regular business hours of the college. This is not a remote or hybrid work opportunity, you will be required to work on campus.

Duties & Responsibilities
- Collaborate, brainstorm, and strategize with multiple teams or clients on various materials, including presentations, programming collateral, signage, internal communications, newsletters, and marketing materials.
- Consistently create and edit promotional materials, advertisements, and other assets
- At times, create and edit multimedia content, such as images, videos, and animations.
- Stay up-to-date with industry trends and best practices in graphic design and content creation.
- Manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- Develop concepts with software and execute original content by determining the ideal usage of color, text, font style, imagery, and layout.
- Manage the design and uploading process for all project materials based on best practices.
- Responsible for overseeing and executing all graphic design aspects related to signage design and production, at time in collaboration with facilities. This includes creating, designing, and sourcing all types of signage, ensuring that they meet the necessary requirements and standards.
- Responsible for managing all requests and coordinating with relevant stakeholders to ensure that the College's signage needs are met in a timely and efficient manner and on budget.
Qualifications
- Diploma or certificate or equivalent, with a specialization in Graphic Design.
- 5 years’ of recent experience in the Graphic Design/Marketing field in creative development and execution.
- In-depth experience using Adobe Creative Cloud design applications, including InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, XD, and Acrobat. As well as a working knowledge of Canva and Microsoft Template development.
- Basic knowledge of video editing and motion graphics (Premiere Pro/After Effects) or photo editing (Lightroom) software considered an asset.
- Well-versed in the latest graphic design methods, practices, techniques, and associated principles.
- Excellent creative and conceptualization skills.
- Ability to effectively describe and present ideas.
- Strong understanding of how to integrate creative throughout many channels
Please note that if your education was received internationally, upon hire we will require you to provide an international education assessment completed through WES, IQAS or one of the other IRCC approved designated organization.
Compensation and Benefits
- Compensation is $3,171.19 (CUPE TS8) per month with the following health and benefit package.
- Employer paid comprehensive health and dental benefits, including a health spending account.
- This position qualifies for additional payment of the Northern Living Allowance of $520 per month.
- Generous vacation entitlement and the bonus of paid holidays between Christmas and New Years
- Life insurance is 2.5 times your annual salary
