The Support and Development Center provide services to Agnico Eagle's various Canadian and / or international mining operations in a variety of areas, including administration, financial services, IT, supply chain, human resources, communications, construction as well as technical services (geology, engineering, metallurgy, infrastructure, marketing, innovation, and digital transformation).

YOUR NEXT CHALLENGE

Reporting to the Corporate Director Project Development, the Study Manager will have to act as project leader for project development where they will have to lead a team of professionals to deliver a complete study at the expected level of details and within the best practices and guidelines from AEM. The scope of work includes all aspects as project schedule, reporting, presentation, stakeholders’ management, costs review, risk assessments, and due diligence/independent reporting projects.

More specifically, you will:

  • Lead a technical team (geologists, mining engineering, geotechnical engineer, mechanical engineers, metallurgists, etc.)

  • Organize the work (schedule, time, meetings, reporting).

  • Manage and approve inputs and assumptions for specific economic analyses related to the required studies.
  • Act as a qualified person for the study as doing the appropriate review and evaluation of the quality of information, benchmark, technical recommendations, and reports, etc.

  • Review and challenge the information provided.

  • Approve the final cash flow of the project.

  • Manage external consultants if required.

  • Follow and support the field works.

  • Prepare and present communications (written, visual and oral) for a variety of stakeholders including senior management, technical professionals, and operational personnel.
  • Support the permitting process of the project.

  • Contribute to ensure the smooth transition of project to the construction phase.

  • Demonstrate awareness and commitment to health, community and environmental protection and take action to ensure that unsafe practices or non-compliant behaviours do not occur.

  • Manage the budget of the Hope Bay project.

WHAT YOU NEED TO SUCCEED

  • University degree (BASc or higher) in mining, mechanical or civil engineering or other relevant domain.
  • Ten (10) year or more of experience in mining industry on project development.
  • Member of a professional order (e.g. OIQ or PEO).
  • Strong experience in cash flow evaluation including all the detailed costs (CAPEX, OPEX, etc.).
  • Experience in management (direct employees and consultants).
  • Strong knowledges into project management (scheduling, best practices, review, organization, stakeholder management, etc.).
  • Experience in undertaking technical studies, trade-off evaluations, equipment selection, staffing, design (open pit and underground operation).
  • Be well versed in the latest technological innovation.
  • Hands-on, self-sufficient and demonstrates a positive, can-do attitude.
  • Strong communication skills.
  • Proficiency in the use of the English language as you will be working in collaboration with other Agnico Eagle sites where English is the primary language.

Your Work Schedule

  • Schedule: 40 hours per week, from Monday to Friday.
  • Workplace: Possibility to work in one of Agnico Eagle's offices closer to your residence in Rouyn-Noranda, Val-d'Or, Mirabel or Toronto. There is a possibility to have a hybrid work schedule, working some days from an Agnico Eagle office and some days in telecommuting. The candidate will have to travel to the project site and Toronto occasionally to work with the stakeholders of higher management.
