In this role, you will perform both roles: Dock Operations Crew and Customer Service Agent.

Working on the docks at Harbour Air is a unique experience for people of all interests. As a Dock Operations member, you will be responsible for coordinating aircraft parking, loading, grooming and various other tasks. The successful candidate will work within a team-based environment that focuses on safety, integrity, teamwork and customer service.

As the first contact with our customers, Customer Service Agents are eager to take customer service to a higher level while balancing multiple priorities. With a strong work ethic, and the ability to contribute to a team environment, the successful applicant excels at providing friendly, professional, and efficient service to each of our customers.

WORK HOURS: Shifts will vary based on operational needs. Shifts may include working weekends.

LOCATION: 5764 Wharf Avenue #3, Sechelt BC

TERM: Casual

DEPARTMENT: Ground Operations

Responsibilities And Expectations

  • Loading aircraft and communicating load distribution with flight crew
  • Help maintain a strong culture of safety through strong communication with team members and in practice
  • Grooming interior and exterior of all aircraft
  • Aircraft parking, moving and organization
  • Docking and releasing aircraft in calm and adverse weather conditions
  • Strong work ethic with a focus on customer service
  • Helpmaintaina strong culture of safety throughstrong communicationwith team members and in practice
  • Strong work ethic with a focus on customer service
  • Greet guests and respond toenquiries
  • Make reservations for a variety of scheduled flights, scenic tours, day trips, and air freight services.
  • Passenger check-in (including baggage handling) and processing a variety of accepted payments
  • Performing flight closure duties,aircraftweight and balance checks, pre-boarding of guests, and general boarding of flights (including public announcements).
  • Other general counter duties asrequired

Qualifications/Assets

  • Able to commit to summer employment
  • Marine/boating/aviation experience a plus
  • Superior customer service skills – willing to take service to a higher level
  • Positive attitude and ability to work well within a team
  • Strong communicationskills
  • Ability to work in all weather conditions
  • Ability to lift heavy baggage (50lbs)
  • High levelof awareness in an active environment
  • Team oriented
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize assignments in afast-pacedenvironment
  • Demonstrated computer knowledge and experience working in a Windows based platform
  • Ability to lift heavy baggage 23kg (50 lb)
  • Ability to work flexible schedulesincludingevenings, weekends, and holidays
  • Fluency in multiple languagesis an asset
