Schedule: Compressed Work Week (9-hour dayshifts, every other Friday off)
YOUR ROLE
Reporting to the Maintenance Supervisor, the Heavy-Duty Mechanic will be responsible for working on mobile equipment as well as with other trade groups performing general and preventative maintenance. The successful candidate will have Journeyperson/Red Seal trade ticket, as a Heavy-Duty Equipment Technician.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
ü Troubleshooting and repairing mobile equipment;
ü Regular preventative maintenance;
ü Servicing of compressors, small equipment, and company fleet;
ü Use computer diagnostics and testing to address problems;
ü Clean, lubricate, and perform other routine maintenance work;
YOUR SKILLS AND ABILITIES
ü Safety focused;
ü Work well in team and possess a friendly and positive demeanor;
ü Self-directed and works with minimal supervision;
ü Ability to manage time and multi-task to accomplish a variety of assignments with conflicting priorities and deadlines;
ü Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
ü Strong problem solving and analytical skills, excellent judgment and willingness to learn;
ü Proven organizational skills with the ability to prioritize effectively and manage multiple tasks in an environment with competing demands;
ü Detail oriented.
YOUR QUALIFICATIONS
ü BC Journeyperson and/or Interprovincial Red Seal Heavy-Duty Equipment Technician
ü Experience working in a safety sensitive industrial work environment;
ü Strong computer system aptitude and experience working with various types of software including Microsoft Office Suite and a computerized maintenance system (i.e. SAP);
ü Possessing dual ticket qualifications is considered an asset.
