About The Position
ADM is looking for a motivated and safety-focused Roll Tender to join our Mill operations. This position is ideal for individuals with strong communication skills, proven production experience, and the ability to work effectively within a team. Reporting to the Mill Superintendent, this position is responsible for supporting sanitation & mill operations by assisting with flour and wheat end processes, performing housekeeping sanitation duties, and ensuring safe, efficient, and productive work practices.
Duties And Responsibilities
- Complete housekeeping/sanitation requirements
- Duties may be physically demanding – Heavy lifting and repetitive motion
- Complete all flour changes on yield management system
- Monitor equipment, complete flour and wheat changes
- Assist in daily operations of the flour and wheat ends
- Provide coverage for Mill Operator 1 tasks as required
- Maintain a safe, clean, and organized work environment
- Ensure compliance with all health, safety, and environmental procedures
- Finding data as necessary to correctly complete duties
- Identify, troubleshoot, and resolve issues promptly
- Communicate effectively with team members and management
- Maintain accurate records and perform computer-based reporting tasks
Required Skills And Qualifications
- Strong problem-solving, self-motivation, and organizational skills
- Experience with high-speed production environments
- Ability to foster and maintain a safe work environment
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Strong leadership qualities with a confident, courteous demeanor
- Effective verbal and written communication skills
- Must have mechanical aptitude & mathematical skills
- Good attention to detail and troubleshooting ability
- Knowledge of relevant industry practices and standards
Education Or Work Experience
- Relevant experience in a mill or manufacturing environment preferred
- Previous work in a high-speed production setting strongly desired
- Demonstrated ability to work safely and efficiently in a team environment
- Management experience preferred
Additional Information
- Perform physically demanding tasks, including climbing stairs, standing for long periods, bending, kneeling, and working in confined spaces or at heights
- May be required to lift 55 lbs. / 22 kg
- Tolerate extreme temperatures in various areas of the facility
- Walk long distances and work with tools as part of daily responsibilities
- Follow instructions and adapt to operational demands
- All candidates must have authorization and the ability to maintain authorization to legally work in Canada.
