Sourcing Specialist – Capital & MRO at Corporate Irving Group Moncton

The Sourcing Specialist – Capital & MRO will be responsible for strategic sourcing and capital purchasing, while also playing a support role for Capital Procurement & MRO spend across all facilities within J.D. Irving Moncton-based companies. These are fast-paced manufacturing facilities and require an individual capable of working with internal customers, including engineering, warehousing, manufacturing sites, storage locations, and farms.

Salary Range: ($55,000 - $77,500 per year)

• Develop supplier strategies and maintain strong supplier relationships while performing all duties and responsibilities within established procedures and standards of ethical conduct. Understand all aspects of the supplier business and supply chain, including cost, key business drivers, and opportunities for business process optimization.
• Maintain awareness of market conditions to determine the capability and availability of services, and to perform price benchmarking for potential future suppliers. Regularly obtain competitive quotes to identify cost reduction opportunities and doing market validations of current arrangements.
• Perform purchasing functions, including the preparation of supply agreement drafts and documents. Conduct supplier performance reviews in collaboration with coworkers using standard supplier evaluation tools, and report supplier performance to management as required.
• Document and maintain current supply agreements using standard supply contracts; ensure internal and supplier compliance with J.D. Irving expectations; and provide monthly reporting as required.

• University degree in Business or a related field
• 2–3 years of progressive experience in procurement or accounting
• CIPS, SCMP, or ISM certification (not required but considered an asset)
• Excellent communication and presentation skills
• Strong time management skills
• Ability to work with a strong sense of urgency
• Working knowledge of procurement policies, processes, and procedures
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and work effectively as part of a team.
