Primary Role Focus

Responsible for sourcing raw material and components required for planned and project demands in a timely manner to ensure schedules are met. This role reports to the Supply Chain Manager.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities

  • Determine priorities, schedules, initiate requests for quotations and issue purchase orders
  • Develop an understanding of supplier base and their capabilities
  • Upgrade ERP item cards including vendor information, pricing and historical information
  • Track orders to ensure they are on schedule and update system as required when changes occur
  • Monitor, expedite, and troubleshoot orders through to completion and update stakeholders as required
  • Maintain correct and accurate flow of information to ensure a high level of service and satisfaction is delivered to all stakeholders
  • Fulfill production orders for secondary processes
  • Work with Accounts Payable department to ensure all vendor invoices are processed accurately and in a timely manner

Position Requirements

Experience And Skills

  • Purchasing or supply chain experience related to manufacturing is an asset
  • Understanding of supply chain, product costing, and quality control principles
  • Working experience with ERP systems (i.e. Business Central, Navision, JDE, SAP, Oracle)
  • Intermediate Proficiency in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Outlook)
  • Read and understand engineering drawings
  • Oil and gas experience an asset
  • Knowledge of down-hole product, machining of parts, and sourcing machined parts is an asset

Education and Training

  • High school diploma required
  • Post-secondary degree, diploma, or certificate is preferred (i.e. commerce degree, SCMP, Inventory & Production management certificate)

Physical and Safety Requirements

  • Ensure compliance with Packers Plus Health and Safety Program
  • Position is not safety sensitive, but is subject to post-incident and reasonable-suspicion drug & alcohol testing
  • Extended periods of sitting at a desk and use of a computer, monitor, keyboard and mouse
