Family Services Coordinator at City of Cold Lake

Job Purpose & Responsibilities
The City of Cold Lake is seeking a qualified individual to fill a full-time, permanent Family Services Coordinator position with the Community Services Department.
Reporting to the FCSS Manager, this position is responsible for:
- Coordinating, developing, monitoring and implementing FCSS and FRN Programs and services in accordance with approved service levels.
- Provide day-to-day supervision and support to assigned FCSS staff and volunteers.
- Research, prepare, support, monitor, and report on grant applications, agreements, budgets, timelines, deliverables, compliance requirements, statistics, evaluation data, and final reporting.
- Collaborate with staff, organizations, agencies, families and volunteers to identify trends, develop workshops, support outreach as appropriate and strengthen prevention-based programming.
- Develop, in conjunction with colleagues, program plans, outcome measures, evaluation tools, and service priorities based on community needs, emerging trends, program data, and funding requirements.
- Support FCSS functions including coordination and implementation of related services, special events, community initiatives, training, and related program activities.
Qualifications & Competencies
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in Human Services, Social Work, Community Development or Family Studies.
- At least 2 years of related experience in human services, prevention programming, family support, community development, social services coordination, or a similar support role, preferably in a family-oriented setting.
- Ability to manage multiple programs, staff, deadlines, grant requirements, and competing priorities.
- Strong leadership, communication, interpersonal, organizational, decision-making, advocacy, and networking skills.
- Strong understanding of FCSS prevention principles, FRN service delivery, early intervention, community development, and family.
- Commitment to cultural sensitivity.
- A satisfactory Criminal Record Check, Vulnerable Sector Check, Child Intervention Record Check, and a valid Class 5 Driver’s License.
More Details
The wage for this position is $39.71 per hour, Monday to Friday 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., 35 hours per week.
This position is within the scope of AUPE Local 118/016, and as such you will be required to adhere to articles contained within the Collective Agreement.
