We’re looking for a motivated, full-time

Yard Supervisor to join our Airdrie, AB team.

About the Role

The Yard Supervisor is responsible for supporting the Yard Operations Manager through ensuring a safe, efficient, and organized work environment in the yard. This hands-on role involves supervising team members in a fast-paced, challenging work environment. A passion for top-notch customer service is a must.

Key Responsibilities: Customer Service & Yard Operations

• Supervise yard team performance and customer interactions, ensuring a safe, efficient, and service-oriented environment
• Assist customers with loading, locating products, and identifying add-on sales opportunities
• Maintain compliance with all safety, fire, and security regulations
• Operate yard equipment (e.g., forklifts, pallet jacks, radial arm saws) safely and efficiently
• Organize and process special orders and delivery paperwork for accuracy and timely fulfillment

Inventory & Stock Control

• Oversee incoming freight: verify deliveries and coordinate efficient inventory put-away
• Pre-load delivery trucks for optimal route efficiency
• Keep the yard clean, organized, and well-stocked
• Use the POS system to manage transfers, invoicing, and stock reporting

Team Leadership & Safety

• Train and support new and existing staff in safety and operational procedures
• Identify and report safety or operational issues promptly
• Monitor equipment use and ensure regular maintenance
Work closely with the Yard Operations Manager to improve workflows, reduce waste, and uphold team morale

What We’re Looking for in You

• High school diploma
• 2-3 years supervisory experience
• 3-5 years lumber & building materials yards experience
• Forklift certification
• Able to move heavy materials (up to 100lbs) to or from the yard, placing them on or removing them from trucks, pallets, etc.
• Able to work on your feet throughout the day
• Able to work outdoors

Nice to Have:

• Class 3 or Class 1 with air brake endorsement
• Clean driving record- drivers abstract verification upon hire
• First aid certificate
Chair of joint health & safety committee
