The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Site Superintendent to join our growing construction team and lead the day-to-day site delivery of purpose-built rental apartment projects across the Greater Edmonton Area.

Reporting to the Director of Construction and working closely with the Project Manager, the Site Superintendent will be accountable for site safety, field execution, short- and long-term scheduling, quality control, trade coordination, logistics, inspections, and turnover. The successful candidate will bring strong experience delivering multi-storey cast-in-place concrete residential projects in a constrained urban environment and will lead the site team from mobilization through occupancy and closeout.

What you bring...

  • Relevant construction project experience in managing projects exceeding $20 Million Dollars.
  • Experience in multi-family wood frame construction
  • Strong knowledge of construction methods, building code and construction best practices
  • Familiarity with safe work procedures, safety regulations, valid first aid ticket an asset
  • Capable of anticipating constructability issues in complex situations and creating solutions.
  • Ability to move the team forward and resolve conflict situations as they arise
  • Strong organizational and planning skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, submittals and specifications.
  • Strong ability to multitask; be proactive; and understand attention to detail and quality control.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Experience in managing interior finishing phase of the project would be an asset.
  • Problem solver with a can-do attitude.
  • Strong personality.
  • A Passion for construction.
  • Proficiency in Word, Excel and Teams
  • Procore software experience would be an asset.

You will...

  • Manage the overall success of the project, including schedule, quality and safety supported by the project manager, project coordinator and other team members,
  • Manage the Deveraux labour as well the subcontractors.
  • Contribute to decisions regarding development and implementation of construction methodology as well as design.
  • Work with the project team to problem solve on site issues.
  • Assumes a leadership role and provides guidance to project team members
  • Confidence in own ability to intelligently communicate with team/client as well as effectively lead the trades
  • Ability to break down problems & manage conflict by effectively dealing with issues in a professional manner
  • Able to proactively seek solutions and escalate issues when needed
  • The ability to be a pro-active self-starter with the ability to think ahead and plan work accordingly
  • Demonstrate leadership in health, safety and environmental protection on the project.
