Senior Peace Officer at City of Cold Lake

Job Purpose & Responsibilities
This is a permanent, full-time position with the Community Services Department.
Reporting to the Municipal Enforcement Manager, this position is responsible for:
- Ensuring public awareness and enforcement of all City Bylaws and authorized Provincial Statutes.
- Enforcing all Municipal and Provincial Bylaws.
- Patrolling within City limits.
- Responding to animal enforcement, protection and rescue.
- Issuing verbal warnings, written warnings, and violation tickets as required.
- Addressing complaints, concerns, and questions in regard to Municipal Bylaw infractions.
Qualifications & Competencies
- Post-secondary education in Law Enforcement or Criminal Justice,
- Community Peace Officer Level 1 Appointment from the Solicitor General,
- Criminal Record Checks, Background Security Check, and Enhanced Reliability Security Clearance must be maintained,
- A minimum 5 years' experience in a comparable, responsible support position,
- Radar, Pepper Spray and Baton certification,
- Laser and Photo Laser certification,
- Valid Class 5 Driver’s License,
- First Aid and CPR certified,
- This position requires highly developed written and verbal communication skills with the ability to demonstrate strong conflict resolution skills.

More Details
The wage for this position is $47.08/hr. The hours for this position are 40 hours per week on a rotational schedule that includes day, evening, and weekend shifts.
This position is within the scope of AUPE Local 118/016, and as such you will be required to adhere to articles contained within the Collective Agreement.
