What you’ll do
- Document Control: Review and compile quality documentation packages from our shop and subcontractors, ensuring every detail is accurate and complete before release.
- Quality Assurance: Conduct detailed inspections of quality records, including MTRs, NDE reports, and welding codes, to maintain Weir’s reputation as a top supplier.
- Client Coordination: Host client quality representatives during shop visits, coordinate hold and witness inspection points, and manage communication between production, sales, and scheduling.
- Daily Operations: Manage inspection releases, generate nonconformance reports, update weld trackers, and assist with hands-on inspections as needed. Collaborate with project managers to meet project quality documentation needs and ensure timely submission of quality packages.
- Safety First: Demonstrate 100% commitment to our zero harm behaviors in support of our drive towards developing a world-class safety culture.
What you’ll bring
Must-haves
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, mechanical field, or 5 years of relevant quality experience in metal fabrication.
- Strong knowledge of quality documents, MTRs, NDE, and welding codes.
- Proficiency with computer applications including Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.
- Exceptional attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
Nice-to-haves
- Experience with SAP software.
- Certifications such as EIT with EGBC, CGSB Level 2 MPI/LPI, AMPP CIP (NACE), or First Aid.
- Familiarity with rubber lining, welding, and fabrication codes or specifications.
- Previous experience in a manufacturing or shop environment involving welding, fabrication, or rubber lining.

Compensation - $63,000-$73,000 CAD per year
This vacancy is for a 6 month contract, with chance of permanent employment when complete.
