Job Title: FPGA Co-Op / Internship

Reports To: Engineer Manager, FPGA – Burnaby BC

Job Purpose

We are seeking a highly motivated and talented FPGA Engineer Co-op/Intern to join our team. In this role, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and testing digital circuits using Field Programmable Gate Arrays (FPGAs). You will also be responsible for ensuring that these circuits meet the performance, power, and area requirements of our products.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Design, implement, and test digital circuits using FPGAs
• Collaborate with other members of the engineering team to ensure that FPGA designs meet product requirements
• Utilize industry-standard FPGA design tools and methodologies to implement and test designs
• Debug and troubleshoot FPGA designs as needed
• Conduct performance analysis to ensure that FPGA designs meet performance, power, and area requirements
• Document design processes and results, and participate in design reviews
• Currently enrolled in a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree program in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field
• Strong understanding of digital logic design and experience with VHDL or Verilog programming
• Familiarity with FPGA design tools and methodologies, such as Xilinx Vivado or Altera Quartus
• Knowledge of high-speed digital design principles, signal integrity, and power management
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Familiarity with embedded system design and programming
• Experience with software development using languages such as C/C++ and Python
• Familiarity with computer architecture and microprocessor design
• Experience with hardware description languages (HDLs) and simulation tools, such as ModelSim or Xilinx Vivado
• This is a full-time co-op/internship position. The working hours and duration of the position will be determined based on the candidate’s availability and the needs of the company. The work will be hybrid at home and in office.
