Project Manager - Building Restoration Consulting
Key Responsibilities
- Manage building restoration projects from initial design through construction and completion.
- Lead proposal development, including scope definition, fee estimation, scheduling, and resource planning.
- Conduct site investigations and building condition assessments.
- Prepare technical reports, project recommendations, and restoration strategies.
- Develop restoration designs, including scopes of work, specifications, and construction drawings.
- Lead client meetings and communicate project updates, design changes, and key milestones with contractors and multidisciplinary project teams.
- Manage tendering and contract administration activities, including bid preparation, contractor selection, invoice reviews, and change order management.
- Participate in industry networking and professional development activities.
- Stay current with industry trends, codes, and best practices.
- Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
- Travel occasionally within Canada, with the majority of projects located in Nova Scotia.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in Building Envelope Consulting and/or Structural Restoration.
- Registered with or eligible for registration with Engineers Nova Scotia.
- Demonstrated project management experience, including budgeting, scheduling, scope management, and resource planning.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong relationship-building skills with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders.
- Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive, solutions-oriented approach.
- Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
- Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
