Project Manager - Building Restoration Consulting

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage building restoration projects from initial design through construction and completion.
  • Lead proposal development, including scope definition, fee estimation, scheduling, and resource planning.
  • Conduct site investigations and building condition assessments.
  • Prepare technical reports, project recommendations, and restoration strategies.
  • Develop restoration designs, including scopes of work, specifications, and construction drawings.
  • Lead client meetings and communicate project updates, design changes, and key milestones with contractors and multidisciplinary project teams.
  • Manage tendering and contract administration activities, including bid preparation, contractor selection, invoice reviews, and change order management.
  • Participate in industry networking and professional development activities.
  • Stay current with industry trends, codes, and best practices.
  • Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior engineers.
  • Travel occasionally within Canada, with the majority of projects located in Nova Scotia.
  • Perform other related duties as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Architectural Engineering, or a related discipline from an accredited institution.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in Building Envelope Consulting and/or Structural Restoration.
  • Registered with or eligible for registration with Engineers Nova Scotia.
  • Demonstrated project management experience, including budgeting, scheduling, scope management, and resource planning.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with clients, contractors, and project stakeholders.
  • Strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and a proactive, solutions-oriented approach.
  • Commitment to continuous learning and professional development.
  • Valid driver's license and access to a reliable vehicle.
