Shift
Education & Experience
- Grade 10 education or equivalent
- Minimum of 1 year serving experience, preferably in a residential care setting environment
- Food Safe Level 1 Certificate is required
Key Responsibilities
1. Responsible for creating a pleasant dining experience for residents, serving nutritious meals, and maintaining a high standard of safety and cleanliness.
2. Greeting residents, taking orders and providing tableside meal service, ensuring it is served at the correct temperature and honours diners requests and preferences
3. Being aware of, and accommodating dietary restrictions, allergies, meal textures and nutritional care plans. May include assisting residents with eating.
4. Carrying out general cleaning and disinfection duties and routines, including sweeping and tidying of spills, light dishwashing, clearing, sanitizing and setting of tables, and ensuring all appliances are clean and in working order.
Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Respects and maintains the spirit, dignity and individuality of the residents and employees.
- Empathetic and understanding of the residents who may be living with complex medical issues
- High standard of hygiene and cleanliness
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision, under strict time constraints
- Fluent in written and oral English, organize the departmental operations
- Safe and efficient operation of all departmental equipment and machinery
