About the opportunity

We’re looking for experienced and quality-minded Production Technicians to join our state-of-the-art facility in Kitchener’s manufacturing center of excellence. You’ll have the opportunity to join the Operations team that is focused on building world-class products. The successful applicant is committed to quality and innovation and is passionate about getting things done the right way. As a Production Technician you will have an impact in ensuring quality performance before our products are delivered to our customers.

All technician positions are 40 hours per week and work Tuesday to Friday from 6:30 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Responsibilities

  • Assemble a variety of mechanical and electro-mechanical parts or components to mass produce subassemblies and finished products.
  • Test mechanical components and systems.
  • Inspect and measure assemblies and materials to specifications.
  • Troubleshoot and test assemblies with the installed working documents and provide jigs and fixtures.
  • Read and interpret work instructions to ensure completion of the work to the desired state.
  • Use system tools to a high degree maintaining data integrity.
  • Collaborate with other functional teams during New Product Introduction builds.
  • Package projectors to a high level of workmanship.
  • Interface with colleagues and other business associates with the highest of respect and cooperation.
  • Perform all tasks to meet our Quality standards and maintain work area according to 6S principles.
  • Participate in continuous improvement initiatives such as Kaizen and Six-Sigma to improve processes.

Location: on-site based in Kitchener, ON

The experience and skills we value

  • 2-3 years of experience working in assembly and in high-tech manufacturing would be an asset
  • Diploma in Electronics, Electrical, Mechanical, Photonics, Robotics or related area, or equivalent work experience
  • Experience using basic workbench tools such as screwdrivers and torque wrenches
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
  • Good computer skills and experience using MS Office applications
  • Self-motivated and works well both individually and in a team environment
  • Good communication skills to effectively work well with others
  • Strong organizational and prioritization skills
  • Transparent, reliable, and honest in dealing with all business matters
