About the role
The Hospital strives to deliver care that is centred on patients and families. Patient and Family Centred Care (PFCC)
is the provision of care that is respectful of, and responsive to individual patient/family preferences, needs, and values

Under the direct supervision of the Manager of Corporate Patient Flow, the Inter‑facility Transfer Escort supports
Hospital operations by ensuring the safe, timely, and respectful movement of patients throughout the Hospital and
local healthcare facilities.
This role plays a key part in patient flow and bed management by facilitating efficient transfers between units and
departments. Transport assignments are coordinated through the Admitting Department and Corporate Patient Flow
Leadership.
The Inter‑facility Transfer Escort interacts directly with patients, families, and clinical staff and contributes to a safe,
patient‑ and family‑centred care environment.
EMPLOYMENT REQUIREMENTS
Education/Experience
- Current enrolment in health care related program or have history of health care realted employment/experience
- Current certification in First Aid/CPR
- Experience in a healthcare or customer service environment preferred.
- Fluency in English (spoken and written).
Skills/Abilities
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Ability to work collaboratively within an interdisciplinary environment.
- Effective time management and prioritization skills in a fast‑paced setting.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Basic computer proficiency and ability to use electronic tracking systems (TeleTracking experience considered an
asset).
- Physical ability to perform essential duties, including frequent walking and safe patient movement activities.
Assets
- Experience with patient transport or hospital support services.
- Demonstrated commitment to patient‑centred care.
Salary Range: $27.699 to 28.357
