We’re hiring a Construction Crew Member / Grass Crew Lead for Quigley Landscaping Inc., operating as The Gardener. This is a hands-on field role based in Cavan, Ontario, with most of the work focused on construction and occasional responsibility to lead a grass crew when coverage is needed.

This role is a fit for someone who likes working outdoors, takes pride in doing the job right, and can shift between being a strong crew member and a calm, dependable leader when needed.

This is a full-time seasonal role, with the option for year-round work through winter duties.

The work

Most of your time will be spent supporting construction/enhancement crews with assigned field work. That may include site prep, material handling, installation support, cleanup, finish work, and helping keep the job moving safely and efficiently.

When needed, you’ll also step in to lead a grass crew of two people to cover vacations or other time off. In those moments, you’ll be responsible for the day’s route, crew pacing, quality checks, and same-day communication with operations if issues come up.

What success looks like

• Construction/Enhancement work is completed safely, productively, and to company standards.
• Grass routes are completed cleanly and on time when you are covering as lead.
• Equipment is treated properly and issues are reported early.
• Jobsites and properties are left clean and professional.
• You communicate problems before they become bigger problems.
• The team can move you where needed without a drop in quality or reliability.

What we’re looking for

• Experience in landscape construction, maintenance, or both
• Experience operating mowers, trimmers, and related landscape equipment
• Ability to safely tow a trailer
• Valid driver’s licence and clean driver’s abstract
• Strong work ethic, reliability, and readiness to adapt to changing assignments
• Ability to lead one other crew member when covering a grass crew
• Good communication with crew members and supervisors

Experience in both construction and grass maintenance is a strong asset.
