Hillfield Strathallan College is seeking an innovative, student-centred Librarian, beginning in August 2026 , to provide strategic, College-wide leadership for library programming across all four HSC schools. Reporting to the Learning Commons Coordinator, the successful candidate will collaborate closely with the library team, faculty, and staff to deliver dynamic services, instructional programming, and initiatives that foster inquiry, reading culture, and research excellence. Crucially, the Librarian will champion evolving literacies, specifically information, media, digital, and AI literacy, to design meaningful learning experiences that prepare students to navigate and thrive as ethical, critical thinkers in a technology-rich world.

This vacancy is due to a retirement.

The ideal candidate will possess

  • Ontario College of Teachers certification in good standing.

  • Teacher-Librarian Additional Qualifications (Part 2 or Specialist) and/or a Master of Library and Information Science (MLIS) are considered strong assets.

  • Experience working in a school library or Learning Commons, preferably in a K–12 or independent school environment.

  • Demonstrated success collaborating with educators to design inquiry-based and interdisciplinary learning experiences.

  • Strong knowledge of information literacy, media literacy, digital citizenship, copyright, and research methodologies.

  • Experience integrating educational technology and artificial intelligence into teaching and learning in meaningful, ethical, and age-appropriate ways.

  • Knowledge of library management systems, online databases, digital resource platforms, and learning technologies.

  • Exceptional leadership, organizational, communication, and relationship-building skills.

  • A commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging through inclusive collections, programming, and instructional practices.

  • A passion for fostering curiosity, creativity, lifelong learning, and innovation within an educational community.
