Position: Handyperson / Maintenance Helper
Location: Truro, NS

Role Overview
As a Handyperson / Maintenance Helper, you'll help keep our facility safe, functional, and well-maintained. This hands-on position is ideal for someone who enjoys working with tools, solving problems, and taking pride in maintaining buildings and equipment. You'll perform routine maintenance, make minor repairs, and support skilled tradespeople with a variety of projects throughout the facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs to building systems and facilities
- Complete preventive inspections of building components and grounds
- Assist with painting, drywall repairs, and general upkeep projects
- Support electricians, mechanics, and other skilled trades as required
- Move furniture, equipment, and materials to support maintenance activities
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment
What We're Looking For
- A hands-on individual who enjoys maintenance and repair work
- Basic knowledge of tools, building maintenance, and repair techniques
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
- Strong problem-solving and organizational skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Commitment to safety and quality workmanship
Working Conditions
- Continuous standing and walking throughout the day
- Frequent lifting and carrying up to 25 lbs (occasionally up to 40 lbs)
- Indoor and outdoor work in various weather conditions
- Occasional climbing, kneeling, squatting, and working at heights
