Summary

We are seeking a safety-focused and organized individual to join our Windsor team as a Route Supervisor. In this role, you will oversee daily collection operations, coordinate routes and driver activities, and ensure the safe, efficient, and timely delivery of service. You will provide leadership, coaching, and support to drivers, monitor operational performance, maintain strong relationships with municipal stakeholders, and ensure compliance with all safety and service standards. Your additional responsibilities are outlined below.

Responsibilities

In the position of Route Supervisor, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

  • Schedule routes; create and modify collection maps and areas.
  • Hold regular meetings with your staff for morning start-ups.
  • Attend all accidents and property damage incidents, fill out accident investigation reports and issue progressive discipline when required.
  • Enter daily productivity statistics and discuss results with drivers as well as record and time keeping.
  • Oversee and support the timely collection of residential curbside materials within the Windsor and surrounding areas.
  • Foster a positive team environment while promoting a culture of exceptional customer service.
  • Lead and act as the primary line of communication and contact with various levels of Municipal staff members.
  • Provide coaching and training for drivers failing to meet minimum service agreement.
  • Demonstrate compassion and understanding of employee needs and build positive relations.
  • Ensure safety and operational standards are being met.
  • Other duties and projects as required.

Competencies & Qualifications

  • Must adhere to Miller Waste System safety protocols and must be familiar with occupational Health & Safety Act.
  • Successful candidates will have a DZ Driver’s Licence, clean driver’s abstract and CVOR.
  • Demonstrable and proven team building skills with the ability to lead as a collaborative leader.
  • Excellent interpersonal communication skills and good organizational skills are mandatory.
  • Lift and move items up to 50 lbs. safely.
  • Work 12-hour shifts starting at 4:30 a.m. until completion of units.
