Key Accountabilities

Production Operations

  • Set up, operate, and maintain plate saw equipment to process material according to work order and customer specifications.
  • Review, interpret, and execute setup notes and work orders accurately.
  • Pull, inspect, and verify material prior to processing.
  • Ensure products meet dimensional and quality requirements by following written work instructions and established sampling plans.
  • Properly operate weighing scales and record inspection measurements as required.
  • Complete production logs, productivity reports, and reconcile production data accurately.
  • Assist in packaging material according to customer and work order requirements.

Material Handling

  • Safely operate cranes, forklifts, and other material handling equipment to move, store, and transport materials.
  • Properly enter, update, and remove material identification tags in accordance with company procedures.
  • Maintain material traceability throughout the production process.

Quality Assurance

  • Conduct quality inspections throughout the production process to ensure compliance with specifications.
  • Identify, record, segregate, and report scrap, defects, or non-conforming materials.
  • Provide feedback to supervisors regarding product quality and process improvements.
  • Maintain issued measuring and inspection equipment in proper working condition.

Equipment Maintenance

  • Perform routine equipment inspections and preventive maintenance activities.
  • Monitor machine performance and promptly report equipment issues.
  • Help ensure equipment operates efficiently, reliably, and safely.

Safety & Compliance

  • Adhere to all company safety policies, procedures, and regulatory requirements.
  • Perform all job responsibilities in a manner that promotes a safe work environment for employees, visitors, and contractors.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and hazard-free work area through regular housekeeping activities.
  • Participate in safety training and contribute to a culture of continuous safety improvement.

Continuous Improvement & Teamwork

  • Support Lean Manufacturing, quality improvement, and operational excellence initiatives.
  • Identify opportunities to improve productivity, quality, efficiency, and workflow processes.
  • Communicate with sales representatives and internal stakeholders regarding order clarifications or changes.
  • Balance workload effectively and contribute to overall team success by providing assistance where needed.
  • Train and mentor team members when required.
  • Demonstrate tk accelis Employee Attributes and Competencies in all aspects of the role.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Previous experience operating plate saws, industrial machinery, or manufacturing equipment preferred.
  • Experience operating forklifts, overhead cranes, or other material handling equipment is an asset.
  • Experience working in a metals, manufacturing, production, or distribution environment preferred.

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift materials throughout the shift.
  • Capable of working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to moving machinery, overhead cranes, and varying temperatures.
  • Ability to safely handle materials and operate industrial equipment.
