FTI Ontario is excited to offer Developing the Future Workforce, a Glazier Apprenticeship Readiness Program designed to prepare you for success in the trade.

A Glazier is responsible for laying out, measuring, preparing, fabricating, and installing or replacing architectural glass, metal components, and air/vapour barriers. These are used in systems such as entranceways, windows, skylights, storefronts, wall facings, partitions, and curtain walls.

You’ll receive hands-on training, industry certifications, and the opportunity to begin a rewarding career in the finishing trades.

Program Details

6 Weeks of In-Class Training (Unpaid)

  • Monday to Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:00 PM
  • Led by experienced, certified instructors
  • Tools, equipment, and PPE provided

12 Weeks of Paid Work Placement (paid)

What You’ll Learn

The program delivers a crash course in job readiness and trade fundamentals, including:

  • Health & Safety
  • Trade Basics
  • Foundational Trade Knowledge
  • Hands-On Preparation

Eligibility Requirements

A valid driver’s license is highly recommended, as it greatly improves scheduling flexibility and increases opportunities for placement across multiple job sites.

In order to become an apprentice

  • Have Canadian government-issued photo ID
  • A permanent SIN, S.I.N beginning with 9 can not be processed.
  • Provide proof of a Canadian high school diploma or Canadian high school transcript showing at least 16 credits, including Grade 10 Math, English, and Science. Canadian GED certificate or Recognized Canadian high school equivalency
