Department: Community Mental Health & Addictions
Qualifications
Certification/Experience/Knowledge
- Graduate of a Community College in Office Administration Business/Medical and or three years relative experience required
- Keyboarding (60 wpm/95% accuracy) and Data Entry (6200 kph/95% accuracy) skills required
- Expert experience with Meditech System, scheduler, registration is required
- Demonstrated experience with payroll, unit schedules and vacation planners
- Demonstrated knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) required
- Knowledge of Mental Health Act, Personal Healthcare Information Protection Act, Hospitals Act required
- Knowledge in Mental Health and Addictions Resources and Programs available in the community and in hospital is an asset
Skills/Abilities
- Demonstrated organizational and time management skills to maintain and support program required
- Must possess high self-direction and self-motivation; be adaptive to change, evolving program needs and expansion and work effectively and independently to meet deadlines
- Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, analytical skills, a high degree of professionalism, tact and diplomacy and the ability to deal effectively with confidential/sensitive information required
- Able to create a welcoming environment, coordinating appointments, calls and general office duties
- Ability to be adaptable, self-motivated and organize work with minimal supervision to tight timelines
- Experience in supporting projects including quality initiatives, policies, forms and promotion materials
- Critical problem solving and decision-making skills required
- The ability to provide coverage in other areas as assigned required
- Good attendance and work record required
- Must demonstrate commitment to ensure your safety, the safety of fellow workers, patients, volunteers, and visitors
- Must support and contribute to a culture of safety and prevention of adverse health events in this organization
- Bilingualism (Advanced level English/French) is required. All unilingual candidates are encouraged to apply and may be considered if the identified French requirement has been met or there are no successful bilingual candidates. A formal French test will be conducted to evaluate the proficiency level.
