About The Role

Please note: This is a temporary 9 month term opportunity

The Finance Manager, CXT Projects, is a strategic partner responsible for delivering expert financial reporting and analysis in support of the Client Experience & Technology (CXT) group. This role is critical in completing budgets, forecasts, and financial analysis for CXT’s capital projects and investments, including technology asset amortization expenses.

Overseeing more than $200 million in annual expenditures, the Specialist ensures accurate, timely, and consistent reporting, collaborating closely with management and business partners to address inquiries, investigate variances, and resolve discrepancies related to project-related expenses.

CXT’s technology investment projects, with an annual spend of approximately $150 million, are pivotal to ATB’s execution of its long-term strategy. The Specialist plays a key role in ensuring the financial success of these initiatives.

With a primary focus on managing capital and project-related expenses, the CXT Finance area relies on this position to build strong relationships with project partners, ensuring alignment and financial rigor in all projects.

Accountabilities

  • Financial Strategy & Insights: Act as the lead financial partner for CXT project initiatives and technology asset amortization, delivering data-driven reporting and analysis to guide strategic decisions.
  • Reporting & Forecasting: Prepare comprehensive financial statements, budgets, and forecasts that align with business objectives and plans.
  • Compliance & Governance: Maintain strict financial controls by ensuring full adherence to IFRS standards and enterprise policies.
  • Business Partnership: Build strong relationships with CXT leadership and stakeholders, offering advisory services that align with the goals of CXT, Finance, and ATB.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement automation opportunities to streamline reporting and workflows.
  • Team Capability Building: Develop training materials and resources to elevate the financial acumen of CXT project leaders and product owners.

Skills, Experience & Requirements

  • Business Degree in Accounting, Finance, or another technical field.
  • Accounting or financial designation is an asset.
  • 7 years of financial services experience.
  • Advanced proficiency in financial modeling in Google Sheets and/or Excel.
  • Thorough working knowledge of IFRS standards and enterprise financial controls.
  • Skilled in budget preparation and financial analysis.
  • Strong analytical skills, problem solving and critical thinking skills (ability to devise creative, workable solutions within established policies).
  • A strong understanding of technology finance, including IT asset capitalization, amortization schedules, and software/SaaS accounting would be an asset.
  • Demonstrated strong proficiency with technology (e.g. Tableau, SAP), cloud platforms, and large data sets (Google Big Query, Google Sheets, MS Excel).
  • Exceptional stakeholder management skills, with the ability to translate complex financial metrics into actionable insights for non-financial partners.
