Learning Technologist at Royal Roads University
The Learning Technologist is responsible for ensuring timely course production, course quality, and user training, support, and documentation. In a team environment, learning technologists work on courses and projects to ensure innovative and effective use of technology that delivers high quality learning and teaching experiences for RRU students and faculty.
- Post-secondary degree or diploma in relevant field, plus minimum one year relevant combination of skills and experience
- Attention to detail, highly organized, ability to meet deadlines
- Strong general computing skills (MS Office, file manipulation, remote access) and web skills ( html, web layout, writing for the web)
- Produces quality images, audio and video for a web environment
- Experience coordinating projects with a proven ability to establish priorities, identify tasks, coordinate the activities of project participants and report on the status of a project
- Experience with the following would be considered an asset:
- Moodle, WordPress and Zoom (or similar)
- PC, Mac, and mobile platforms
- E-learning trends, issues and technologies
- Works independently, and as a positive contributing member of a team, in a changing and innovative institutional environment
- Ability to analyze problems and make sound decisions about a course of action within the scope of the position
- Contribute to a work environment that is sensitive to the effect of personal language and actions on others.
- Take a professional approach to maintaining positive relationships and resolving conflict in order to promote a respectful and harmonious work environment.
- Positive, professional relations with clients and external organizations in order to support University objectives of excellence in service.
Additional Information
This is a regular, full-time position working 37.5 hours per week. This position has been evaluated at MPT-A with a salary range of $64,409 (minimum) to $75,677 (midpoint) to $86,945 (maximum) per annum. Employment offers will normally be made between the minimum and midpoint of the range and are determined by knowledge, experience and internal equity.
