Furnishings & Equipment Education Team Lead at Alberta Health Services
Reporting to a Manager, Furnishings & Equipment, Capital Projects the F&E Education Team Lead supervises a team of F&E Process Specialists, an Education Coordinator and an Education Scheduler. This Team Lead is accountable to organize and plan the team's workload in accordance with direction from the F&E Management Team and to ensure the F&E Education Strategic Framework is successfully implemented on schedule and as outlined. This positively impacts the F&E Department to meet the strategic health infrastructure and operational outcomes of new, expanded or renovated AHS facilities or clinical services in a repeatable, standardized and measurable manner. This Team Lead delivers solutions to multiple complex challenges and plays a key role in communication to advance F&E services across the province. This Team Lead will oversee deliverables including the team's work in developing standard operating procedures, QAQC and competency reviews, client facing education and other deliverables as assigned.
The Team Lead provides day to day leadership and supervision, providing direction to their team, assigning workload, monitoring adherence to direction and measuring progress. They must be able to direct work, adjust priorities, plan ahead for resourcing requirements and know when to proactively flag risks and escalate issues. They need to continuously research evolving healthcare equipment technology, infection prevention and control standards, clinical best practices, dept. standard procedures & end user workflow.

Required Qualifications
A Bachelor’s degree in Nursing, Engineering, Health Administration, Business Administration, Human Resources, or other management related field and applicable healthcare experience is required. On-the-job experience as a Project Manager, Charge Nurse / Head Nurse, Engineer, Superintendent or similar leadership role is required. A proven track record with 10 or more years of experience supervising multiple staff in a healthcare or complex project management team environment is required. This position is required to travel to healthcare projects throughout the province. Safety training is required to access construction sites, as well as approved personal protective equipment (PPE). Possession of a valid driver’s license & access to a motor vehicle in good repair for work-related travel is required. Some working knowledge and understanding of health facility construction is required.
Additional Required Qualifications
- Preference will be given to applicants with work experience supervising Educators or Instructors. A strong understanding of adult learning principles is highly desirable. The successful candidate must:

- Set priorities and prioritize assignments which accurately reflect the relative importance of job responsibilities and project deliverables to complete heavy workload within established time frames
- Ensure staff follow through on assignments, maintain quality assurance, mitigate and resolve conflicts

Preference :applicants who demonstrate ability to ensure team aligns to standard operating procedures, proven ability to motivate a team without compromising Mgmt direction, comfortable working in high pressured, dynamic environment, possess strong critical thinking skills, who welcome social interaction w/ colleagues. travel throughout the province including overnight is required. This is a supervisory people management role.
